What I did on my summer vacation

I got spoiled, that's what.

This is the first time in my career I've taught summer school. I teach at Sonoma Elementary four days a week from 7:30 until 12:30. Mr. Apodaca does the lesson plans, so all I have to do is work with the kids. No paperwork!

We have two children. JoseJose will be a first grader at Conlee Elementary.
AndrewAndrew is entering second grade at University Hills Elementary.

Speaking of great kids, I saw a bunch of them at the annual Tortugas Turtlefest last Sunday.
RacersThese two boys are hoping to take the trophy.

Prior to Sunday's events, Dancerstribal dancers conducted a ritual ceremony to cleanse the area of any malevolent entities hanging about. The BOOM! of the shotgun scared some kids and adults as well.

We return to Sonoma Monday, July 9. So, until then, here's wishing everyone a very Happy Fourth of July.
