I needed a quick and fun activity to cap off today's dictionary skills lesson for my third graders. So I hopped on over to teachers.net and typed in "dictionary skills" in the "Search Lesson Plans" box and came up with more than 30 creative ideas from teachers around the world. How cool is that?
Eyes on Art - The site is appropriate for primary students who are just "learning to look" as well as advanced students of the visual arts. Select from among five activities that progressively challenge students' ability to look carefully at the visual arts. A final Eyes on Art Quiz checks to see if you were paying attention in Art History 101. The site hasn't been updated since 2001. Expect some dead links. If you run into too many dead ends, head on over to the always fresh Smithsonian American Art Museum.
