thinking aloud

"Nobody does anything inappropriate given their model of the world."

Is this statement demonstrably true?

If so, does it help you to see events, locally and globally, in a different perspective?

Can it help explain the life of Saint Francis by Nikos Kazantzakis (my current read)? Can it shed light on George Bush's presidency? Can it perhaps explain, in part, the misbehavior of a troublesome student?

Just wondering.

Coin stacking

Bridgesideview

Created by a civil engineering student who uses pennies to create interesting stacks to form bridges, towers, and more. Glue? No way! That'd be cheating! Michaud's grade 3 students have built bridges as part of science, using this as one method.

Writer's block?

Nah. been working on a project, nurturing my vegetable garden, and re-educating my body to Yoga.

The project, for now, is hush-hush. Shhh...

My garden is doing well, thank you. Parsley, chervil, sage, ruby lettuce, mustard, lovage, rosemary, habaneros, serranos, cherry peppers, beets, arugula. My compost, however, needs some help. Ants! In my compost! What the hell... They'll help break it down more quickly. Now, if I can only keep them from biting.

Yoga? I started a food prep job a month ago at The Pepper Mill. Not used to standing in one of three basic positions in a six-hour day. Happy Serendipity. Caveman's revised schedule prohibits me from my daily morning walk. (He follows me.) So, I decided to go back to Yoga.

Oh, bless you Caveman. These poses are exactly what I needed. Not only is my physical body experiencing a rejuvination, but my mental/emotional/spiritual bodies are falling in line too.

Actually, I've been feeling a touch guilty. No links.

OK. Here's a good one. Brainy Kids. Links to science-related games, labs, science fair ideas, resources/lesson plans, etc.
