Installed my frame sliders today. Should have been a 10-minute job, but nooooo! I had to make three separate trips, two to Wal-Mart and one to Sutherlands (who referred me to Hayden Hardware) to gather the tools needed for the job. When I returned from Hayden's the tools were baking in the sun so I moved them to the shade to cool down. Anyways, I got a trunkful of tools now so I can do some of my own mods on the bike.
Bikes are shipped in large crates and are assembled at the dealer's. Putting it all together was done by Shawn King. His bike is identical to mine. I thought you might like to see what's involved in getting one ready for the road.
I've been reading Eckhart Tolle and, at times, consciously practicing being here now. I figure as long as I am consciously aware that 99 percent of what I post is nothing more than look at me, then I'm making progress.

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." --Ghandi
She's a stray. Part pit bull. Not yet a year old. Brindle. Skin and bones. I almost took her home. I wanted to take her home. I wanted to save her.
But the I Ching advised against it. I tried to get the Ching to change its mind. But after the third time I gave up. The Ching had spoken. Danger. Take no action. Buck you, Ching!
So now I'm sinking my dwindling funds into my new motorcycle, a 2008 Yamaha FJR.
And I've joined the FJR Forum. I'm learning quite a bit. Got so excited I even bought a couple of torque wrenches. Started a topic in the Completely Off-topic Discussions. Maybe I should start another one. About Gracie.
