If you look here, you just might come up with a ballpark figure. In decibels, natch.
Here's a bit of background noise (hahahahaha! couldn't resist it!) that explains the subject in language we can all understand. Noise and Hearing Loss
WOW! Already an UPDATE! - A great resource for kids, parents, and the public.
WOWEE! Another update! - Well, this may appear to be somewhat lame, but that's the way it is. After going though a mental-spiritual meltdown on Monday, I remembered what I'd forgotten. (This is common to all human beings. It's called remembering/forgetting.) I'd been laboring in the realm of the physical. Which, in this particular case, has caused me a bit of embarrassment as well as alienating one or two people I work with. On August 22, I received the following e-mail message:
Make lists of positive aspects. Make lists of things you love—and never complain about anything. And as you use those things that shine bright and make you feel good as your excuse to give your attention and be who-you-are, you will tune to who-you-are, and the whole world will begin to transform before your eyes. It is not your job to transform the world for others—but it is your job to transform it for you. A state of appreciation is pure Connection to Source where there is no perception of lack.

I've had plenty of these meltdowns in my life. They serve as a wake-up call. So, for the foreseeable future, I'll be working easier (see above)... that is, until I again forget.
No blame.
It just is.
