I gave my brother some bread making gifts at Christmas. The result?
In his own words (so you, dear reader, don't follow the same hideous path) - I bought some special flour, Vita-wheat gluten flour, from Mountain View coop last week and used it today to make bread. Here’s how it turned out- like a giant muffin. [Editor's comment - I'm thinking more like an anatomical portion of the Elephant Man.] The bread turned out to be, in two words, absolutely terrible. It was like eating flavorless bubble gum. Plus, it could not be torn (too fibrous); had to be cut. The remains are now in the trash. Next year he gets a tie.
